Decisions decisions.....

I've been fretting over The Gypsy Caravan, I think it is to much too soon. I don't like that feeling because I do believe it would be an awesome opportunity...just too soon for me.

Oh, and my talented mother is setting up with me now. Which is good and I'm a little leary of, she can be...well...bossy. Lol. See previous post about my bffy's wedding, mom was the planner. She's amazing at all she does, but is 150 miles away...so it's some collaborating by phone to do this.

Anyhoo...thanks to my junky email I keep in which I rarely unsubscribe to anything I ever subscribe to...I found not one, but two opportunities in Chesterfield this summer. June 1 Cityfest for their 25th anniversary and August 31 Forks and Corks.

I'm excited about them. I learned about then thru Chesterfield Arts that I have volunteered with in the past and have attended events at their gallery.

It will be a good way to break into more events and not as looming as a huge event like the caravan.

We'll see where we are next year...maybe we'll be ready for the caravan by then.

I haven't been making the head way I thought I might over the past month, but I have made one necklace.
And I've taken it for a couple of test spins. :)
Need to keep some momentum, This past weekend I was able to get my art desk and stashes cleaned up. It helps, there was a giant mess that made working to over whelming.
Busy weekend ahead, but I think over the next few nights I can get some things done.

2013...not 2014

For some reason I have had the hardest time adjusting to this year's change. I keep trying to skip 2013 and say it's 2014. I wonder if there is reason for that? Do I fear 2013 and think we should just skip ahead? Or am I just a giant dork? Oh well, guess we'll never really know.

That said, I do believe 2013 is a big year and a big year for some changes. Time to move ahead.

#1 Big change....new job. Starting tomorrow, 02/18/13. A whole new company and a whole new job function. Back to the phones I go, been out of call centers since 2010. But this time, I will be working a new industry, and providing service/sales again.

So - bye-bye financial world. Good riddance, for forever I hope. In the mean time, at least, I will be making more for my family & have a little load off of the stress the last job was giving me.

#4 - Get my butt to school before the year is out. I need some training to do something for a day job that I will actually like doing.

I have been making some items, and finding new places for supplies that I really like and are my aestetic. :) So, I will start my new day job, keep working on items and things will come together.

Lately....

I haven't been getting much done....well at least not art wise. Life has been a little busy.

I have a new corporate stooge job starting Feb 18th, so that will give me and the fam a little breathing room. And hopefully a little more $ for art based pursuits. I.e. the Gypsy Caravan coming in May.

I haven't been doing anything big project wise, but playing around with rings and brooches. But I will get back to some cards and necklaces soon.

Successful encouragement

Things went well at the first show. I got a lead on another show in early December that I might try to register for.

But now, time to celebrate my kiddos fourteenth birthday this weekend!

(then it will be time to focus on the classes in November)

Two more days till my first craft show ever. Then it will be time to focus on the classes I'm teaching in November. It all seems crazy.
